A weekend in San Francisco

A friend of ours gave us 4 tickets to a San Francisco Giants game. David was really excited because he wanted me to see a real baseball game and at the same time maybe I could be in one game that our favorite player will hit another home run. Barry Bonds ofcourse.

We were scheduled to watch the game on Aug. 24 and that was a friday so it is perfect because it is Dave's day off. I had told David that it would be better if we stayed in a hotel for the night because I don't like the idea of us driving back to Morgan hill even though it is only an hour drive from San Francisco. But you know when you are in a ball game especially men, they drink beer of mass quantities (just kidding) hehehe.. Nah, I just don't like David driving back home with alcohol in his body because it would have been dangerous and who knows we get pulled over by a cop and he would get a ticket for DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and that is a big offense. Jail time could be possible and suspension for a year..we don't need that!

So anyway, we decided to stay for the night at the city. Stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for the night. It was a really nice hotel I must say. We had a nice room on the 17th floor. We also had a great view of the city..very nice indeed! As you can see on the picture..tell me..isn't that nice?!

David and I went for a constitutional and decided to eat after. We went to this restaurant just a few feet from the street. It was really cool! More like we were in a movie where you can see busy people walking around the streets and I tell you, this is important..San Francisco is a bum friendly! We saw alot of bums! They look harmless but I wouldn't trust em!

After David and I were settled in our room we decided to walk around a few blocks. Before we headed out we overheard alot of sirens going on and we thought "yeah this is fairly natural in San Francisco". For me, city living won't work out because I hate noise! Anyway, after walking a few blocks from our hotel, David decided that we eat lunch. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but the food was nice though :) While eating we saw alot of ambulance, police cars and fire trucks pass by us. We were both curious what was going on. So we checked it out. The reason behind all these commotion was that there was a fire on one end of the subway. They had to close both ends of the entry so that people can't get in and only those who were inside can gte out so there wouldn't be traffic underneath. As always, a picture of a scene with David on the picture and a picture of me with one of the fireghters.

Also, for the longest time that David and I had waited..we finally had the chance to take the cable car!! Yippppeee! It wasn't that great but that is part of history and part of the city's attraction.

With our new friends Kristina and Erik. The four of us were bundled up because it was freezing! behind us is the pacific ocean already!hehehe. We got the freezing breeze of the ocean :)

And the last picture was Barry Bonds completing his 761 Home Run baby!! I was there! Whooaa!! It was really amazing because my first ever baseball game was the best! I got to see Barry Bonds hit a home run and its one of his HR breaking history!

Okay, so that was our weekend getaway in San Francisco..not much going on but hubby and I had a great time!

Only in the Philippines...

My friend Tessie called me this afternoon and she asked me if I wanted to eat lunch with her. I said that I have to put hubba hubba to sleep first (scratch Dave's head till he goes to sleep..lucky him) and then I can come over to her house. So after 15 minutes David was sleeping like a baby and I'm off to my friend's house. My friend and I ate a sumptuous lunch. We had rice, kaldereta baka, bagoong on the side and piniritong isda..oh so yummy!!



After that nice lunch, my friend's friend called and we were told to come by her house and pick up a bag of fresh caught fish. Wow!! That was really nice. So we went and voila! I had a bag full of fresh mackerel fish :)



Then later on my friend and I decided to go to Costco and get some gas. The plan was to get gas at costco and that was it. But we decided to go inside the store and look around. That looking around cost me a couple hundred dollars! We ended up buying alot of things hehehe. Anyway, while I was looking around the store, I remembered a friend (Oona) mentioned about dried mango. I searched around and luckily I have found it!! Thanks Oona! You Gotta love Costco :)

As you can see on the picture there is a note attached to it. I had to leave a message on the screen of our computer saying that I have an opportunity that is $15 and I don't want hubby to close the windows I had left on the screen. It was a little bit late and I had to go to the grocery at that time so I had left a note. My hubby was nice enough to make me a nice review on that opportunity that I just got. For that I made my hubby a real nice dinner. Fried steak and corn again. I'm just glad he doesn't complain about my cooking. I only know how to fry and that's it!heheehe.

I am kind of tired of the frappuccino usual routine thing everyday and I felt like I should start drinking healthy stuff. We'll see how long I will last. I won't make promises..just wanna try it out for awhile. Well the truth about me blogging in the middle of the night is that I am pissed at David. I was telling him something that had happen to me two weeks ago and I was blabbering around knowing that he is listening to me..but he wasn't! When I was in the middle of my story he let out this loud snoring sound. It seems to me that he just fell into a deep sleep and letting out that loud snore just confirms it. And I tell you I was pissed!hahaha. Haven't you guys experience that when you tell a person something they are not listening a bit to whatever you are talking about? Not that you are not interesting or what you were saying is not interesting but some people are just plain insensitive.

I was planning on waking up early tomorrow morning and go to the farmer's market and get some fresh fruits and veggies and something for breakfast but I have changed my mind. I will just go to scramblez and have my breakfast there. Hubby can prepare his own breakfast! Bahala siya!hehehe...oh well, maybe I will forget all about this in the morning..we will see!

Though my parents don't have a blog on their own so I will just tell you guys a little bit about my parents :)

My Mom and Dad

This picture was taken right after the ceremony. I went to give respect to my parents and did the "Mano Po".

As you can see in the picture that my mom and dad were really happy to see their bunso getting married. My mom can't help herself but cry because she thought that I am too young to get married and she felt that I shouldn't be away from home.

My parents are the best. Both of them worked so hard to provide us shelter, food and whatever monetary needs we have. Though we didn't come from a wealthy family but I can say that we were doing good. My Dad is a tailor and my mom is a seamstress for quite a long time. And I am so proud of what they do before. Even such small earnings from working with different shops, my parents manage to provide us with everything. My mom later became as a Marketing Supervisor of Davao Medical School Foundation Training Service and My mom worked there for 10 years.

I miss them both. I miss those times when my Dad and I share coffee early in the morning and we talk about my dad's childhood. He would try to scare me with horror stories early in the morning and I just laugh it out because its daylight :) I miss those times when I help my dad put those fighting roosters in their bin. I miss the times when my mom would separate me and my sister from fighting each because we don't want to wash the dishes. I miss those times when my mom wants me to massage her head...so many things that when I remember them it just makes me cry.

I'm lucky to have parents like them. I would never trade them for anything! I love you both!

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Harry Potter Books. I went to the bookstore again and bought the 3rd and fourth book of HP.

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month? Watched King of Queens..so funny! Watched Independence day :)

What special days did I celebrate and how?Independence day and my nephew's bday!

What gifts did I give and/or receive? I shared my blessings to friends and family :)

What illnesses or health concerns did I have? I'm always worried about hubby's knees breaking down..it just hurts me seeing him in pain :( As for me, I don't get sick though I get menstrual cramps every month. Does that count?hehehe

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family? David and I went to Gizdich farms in Watsonville to just get some of their famous pies. We went on highway 52 (not sure of the number) and the drive there was like being n a rollercoaster. Wow!

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month? Went to Panda Express for a change. My favorite chinese restaurants doesn't appeal to me really good these days.

What special or unusual purchases did I make? Plane tickets to Las Vegas, Tickets for the Beatles LOVE Cirque Du Soleil.

What were this month’s disappointments? You guys don't wanna know..Its heartbreaking but I am glad its over with!

What were my accomplishments this month? I sent out all the invoices for this week. Sent out all the fruit pies to my clients as monthly giveaways. Made some brochures for Mom in Law's open house on sunday and I got myself paid yesterday :)
